Melissa Lawler is a wedding and lifestyle photographer specializing in black and white photography based in the Indianapolis area.

Melissa started studying photography to break up the science and math classes she was taking as a pre-med student. She quickly decided that photography would be her new path and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. She was awarded the Ann Lary Scholarship based on competitive exhibition of her work and was granted a full assistant-ship to the Master of Fine Arts program at Florida State University. She was awarded the cover of the Mars Field Journal and placed best in show  in several exhibitions. She has taught photojournalism as well as other art classes.  She is a member of the Wedding Photojournalist Association and an international award winning member of  the Artistic Guild of the Wedding Photojournalist Association.  She is ranked 20th internationally in the top 30 photographers of the fourth quarter for 2008; see agwpja.com.
